Wiyaala’s African Polyglot Album Eyes Grammy Nomination, Announces Switzerland Tour
Ghanaian artist Wiyaala is on an exciting journey with her latest album, African Polyglot, which is in the running for a nomination at the 2025 Grammy Awards in the Best Global Music Album category. She’s calling for support from Grammy Voting Members to help secure a nomination, hoping this will not only shine a light on her unique sound but also inspire fellow Ghanaian artists.
A nomination would expose her music to a global audience and give her a bigger platform to advocate for causes like cultural preservation and women’s empowerment.
In October, Wiyaala will be touring Switzerland with Dodo, a Swiss star she collaborated with on his Youpougon album. Expect high-energy performances across 10 shows!
On another note, her track The Captain’s Lament has been featured on Putumayo’s Café Africa compilation. The song is especially impactful now due to ongoing protests in Ghana about illegal gold mining, reflecting on the tragic story of Captain Maxwell Mahama.
Wiyaala is also heading to the Balkans in November, with tour dates soon to be announced for Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, and Greece.
Ghana is definitely on the map, with this news.
