Diana Hamilton advises Emelia Baidoo: Embrace originality over imitation
Award-winning Ghanaian gospel superstar Diana Hamilton has blessed up-and-coming gospel performer Emelia Baidoo and provided her career guidance. The 2021 VGMA artiste of the year was overwhelmed by Emelia Baidoo when the two meet.
The “Adom” singer took the opportunity to encourage Emelia Baidoo to always be original with her work and to put oneself before what other people may think or say, as it is better to fail at originality than to succeed at imitation.
“You are unique, You have different talents and abilities, You don’t have to follow the footsteps of others and most importantly, you should always remind yourself that you don’t have to do what everyone else is doing and have a responsibility to develop the talents you have been given. Don’t try to impress people, Always be yourself.” – Diana said.
Diana Hamilton acknowledged that since beginning her career, she has made conscious efforts to be authentic. She stressed how this approach had helped her progress from grace to grace and kept her relevant in the field.
“Most of we the musicians are eager to be stars and have fame so we rush for the fame and stardom without waiting for God’s time.
“It is easy to call yourself a Gospel Musician but how to last in the industry is not easy because some of us have been through a lot of challenges to get to where we are now,” she added.
Emelia Baidoo is a new face in the Gospel industry and currently out with a new single tittle, “Manisuo.”
