The Rejected Ballot! Who Takes The Blame?

Rejected Ballot Paper – Ghana
I have not been an ardent follower of the Ghanaian political system of governance for the very reason that most elected leaders chooses that platform as a profitable venture to amass wealth, and leave the poor citizen who joins the never ending queue to cast his or her ballot for their victory to wallow in abject poverty.
But yet in every electoral process a mind boggling issue which I thought belonged to the past, always find its way out during the count of ballots. And surprisingly a quantum of it, is sometimes overwhelming that it overtake a registered contestant. “Rejected Ballots” it is called.
Few questions I ask myself:
* Is the electorate a novice
* Could the electorate still be unaware of the voting process and needs much education
* Is it done on purpose (for shege reasons)
The first two offenders, I believe can be pardoned but can’t say same for my last friend who does that on purpose. However, intensive education with experiment is needed for category A and B.
In as much as “your vote is your power”, why would you wake from your slumber, spend your productive time to join a queue amidst the quarrels and stress, vote to destroy it for any reason best known to you. Find something worthwhile to do my brethren.
Nonetheless, can a “for shege” rejected ballot be notifiable amongst the lot. Your guess is as good as mine.
Exercise your franchise and make sure you do it right, but if you are reserved for a reason based on a thought you possess, then relax and be an observer.
